Four ways to make a
real difference

SoulSpace is funded entirely by community support. No government grants. No large institutional donors. Just people who believe these animals deserve better — and show up for them.

Make a Donation

Your financial contribution goes directly to the animals — food, veterinary care, medications, enrichment, and the facility that keeps them safe. No donation is too small, and every dollar is used with intention.

Where your
support goes

Every donation, wishlist purchase, and volunteer hour directly supports the Residents in our care. Here's how that support is put to work.

Daily Food & Care

Fresh food, hay, grain, and enrichment for 80+ Residents — every single day. Feeding a diverse herd is one of our largest ongoing costs.

Veterinary Care

Routine checkups, vaccinations, emergency treatment, medications, and specialist consultations — including ongoing partnerships with the University of Minnesota.

Facility & Upkeep

Safe stalls, fencing, bedding, and ongoing maintenance ensure that every Resident has a clean, comfortable, secure place to live year-round.

Enrichment & Wellness

Goat toys. Mud wallows for the pigs. Turnout time for the horses. The physical and emotional wellbeing of our Residents goes beyond basic survival.

Education & Outreach

Open Barnyard Sundays, community ambassador visits, and social media storytelling — the work of changing how people see farm animals takes time and resources.

Rescue Operations

Fuel, transport, emergency intake supplies, and the costs associated with quarantine and intake veterinary exams for every new arrival.

Why It Matters

"No matter the outcome, the loving thing is the right thing. And together, that's what keeps us going — that's what brings light and compassion into moments that could so easily feel exactly the opposite."

Kara Breci · Executive Director & Founder

Volunteer

Show up. Make a difference.
Do it again.

SoulSpace runs on the dedication of our volunteers. Volunteer work days are every Sunday from noon – 4:00 PM — no RSVP required, just show up wearing appropriate clothing and footwear for outdoor, sometimes muddy, farm conditions. There's a task list each week — everything from making salads for the pigs and grooming the Residents, to filling duck pools and water bowls, mucking barns, and cleaning bunny sheds. There are meaningful roles for people at every age and experience level.

Farm Care Volunteers

Feeding, watering, mucking stalls, refreshing bedding, making salads for the pigs, filling duck pools and water bowls, cleaning bunny sheds, and spending one-on-one time grooming and bonding with the Residents.

Open Barnyard Hosts

Help welcome Sunday visitors, share the Residents' stories, and ensure every guest has a meaningful, safe experience on the property.

Event & Fundraising Volunteers

Help with setup, logistics, and guest experience at SoulSpace's events and fundraisers throughout the year.

Skills-Based Volunteers

Veterinary experience, photography, accounting, marketing, construction — if you have a professional skill, we can almost certainly put it to good use.

All ages and experience levels are welcome to volunteer — children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
