Every Sunday

The Open Barnyard

No sign-up. No appointment. Just show up, dressed for the weather, and spend the afternoon with the Residents. Wander the property, sit with the animals who want company, and take your time — that's the whole point.

Before You Come

A few things
worth knowing

This is a working farm and, more importantly, it's home to more than 85 Residents. A little preparation goes a long way toward making your visit good for everyone — you included.

Dress for the farm

Wear appropriate clothing and boots. Conditions can be muddy, and you'll be on your feet outdoors for most of your visit.

Kids of all ages welcome

Children are genuinely welcome here — this is one of the best places we know to meet a farm animal as an individual for the first time.

Please leave dogs at home

We're unable to allow dogs during tours or events. Many of our feathered Residents free-range across the property, and their safety comes first.

Connection is the point

We actively encourage one-on-one time with the Residents. That intimacy is what makes SoulSpace different — take it slow and let them come to you.

This is their home first.

Everything here is built around the Residents feeling safe. We're just friends along their journey, giving them the time and the space they need. These aren't rules for the sake of rules — they're how we keep this a place the animals actually want to be.

No chasing or running after the Residents. This is their safe place, and chasing — of the birds or anyone else — is never allowed. Let them set the pace; the ones who want to say hello will find you.
Our feathered friends need a little extra room. Many of them came from traumatic situations, and sudden movement frightens them. Children are warmly welcome to sit still and let the birds come to them — parents, a gentle reminder that running can startle the Residents goes a long way.
Please stay out of the pasture areas unless you're accompanied by Kara or a member of the Resident Care team.
One-on-one connection is encouraged. Sit down. Be quiet. Be patient. It's what makes a visit here an intimate experience rather than a tour.
Plan Ahead

Book a visit

The Open Barnyard never requires a booking — you're always welcome to just show up on a Sunday. But if you'd like to reserve a specific time, you can do that right here.

Reminder: the Sunday Open Barnyard is walk-in — no reservation needed.

Looking for a private tour?

Private tours are absolutely available — for families, school groups, scout troops, youth programs, community organizations, and anyone who wants a more personal experience. Reach out to Kara directly to arrange one.
